So, Nintendo didn't have a great 2018. I still got plenty of great games for my Switch, and since I traveled quite a lot this year, I was always happy to them on the go. But very few of these games were first-party titles, and since Nintendo set the bar so high in 2017, I was sad to notice such a huge difference in production. The one game that really blew me away this year was Super Smash Bros: Ultimate. But even a game that good can't make up for so many months of mediocrity. I was worried for 2018, but I'm terrified for 2019. The Nintendo Switch is underperforming, Metroid Prime 4 is being remade from scratch, and we still haven't even heard rumors of a Nintendo Direct yet. This isn't even mentioning that there is talk of another Switch being made, which honestly just confuses me. I'm desperately hoping that Nintendo can stay strong and return to form, but I honestly doubt that the Switch will ever have a year as good as 2017 again.
